New England Business Association Announces the Winners of the 2018 Innovation Awards

Judges chose eight winners from an impressive pool of 213 nominees

WALTHAM, MA, May 14, 2018 - The New England Business Association (formerly SBANE, the Smaller Business Association of New England) has announced the eight winners of the prestigious 2018 New England Innovation Awards. The winners, narrowed from a list of 20 finalists, were announced at the May 10th Evening of Innovation program held at the Westin Hotel, Waltham, MA.

“The New England Innovation Awards showcases the most innovative companies in our region. This year, 213 companies from 5 of the 6 states in New England participated in the program and presented their unique idea, product or service from many industries. These companies represent the best of the new economy. We are looking forward to following their successes as they grow,” said association President, Karim Hill.

The nominees competed in two phases of judging. Phase 1 of the competition was held on March 22, 2018 at the Executive Conference Center at Bentley University in Waltham, MA where the nominees were narrowed to a list of 50 semi-finalists. In a second judging session, that list was then narrowed to 20 finalists.

The Finalists presented to a panel of 64 judges on April 12, 2018 at the Westin Hotel in Waltham, MA as part of Phase 2 of the competition. After the presentations, the judges chose three winners in the "Profit" category and two in the "Non-Profit" category. Three companies were honored as "Rising Stars", who are in the early stage of development and have clearly demonstrated the validity of their business.

"For 33 years, SBANE, now New England Business Association, has done a remarkable job of identifying winners whose technology, services and ideas represent how truly innovative the New England Ecosystem is. This year has been no exception. Each and every one of our winners and for that matter our nominees, are leaders in their space, driving forward this innovation economy to make our lives and our own companies far superior to any other region in the country, let alone the world. As the Circle of Excellence welcomes the class of 2018, I can honestly say it is one of our best yet", said New England Innovation Awards Committee Chairman, Todd Faber, President, The Faber Group.
